About Stockholm17
Welcome to Stockholm17
I am Lorenzo Gaggiotti, the designer behind Stockholm17. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, I design playing cards and often I win prizes.
It all began with my fascination for playing cards as a child. I am Italian, and while growing up I mainly used just two types of decks: the standard 54-card deck — especially for a family game called Scala 40 — and a 40-card regional deck known as Le Piacentine.
I was always drawn to the illustrations and the symbolism of the cards. In 2012, I decided to create my very first custom-designed poker-size deck and launched a crowdfunding campaign to see how people would respond. To my surprise, I discovered a very active community of card collectors connected to magicians and card artists (often referred to as cardistry).

Ironically, I am neither a card player nor a gambler, and I am terrible at performing card tricks. Yet I love designing this timeless object. To me, each deck is a small world, telling a story through 54 cards.
Thank you for stopping by — I hope you find what you are looking for.
